The Role of Integrated Energy Projects in Accelerating the Energy Transition

Sian Lloyd-Rees is the UK Managing Director of AKER Offshore Wind. This is an evening presentation and  webinar.

Integrated energy projects will play an important part in both achieving the UK’s renewable energy ambition and tackling its energy supply challenges, from efficiently capturing stranded offshore renewable energy resources to decarbonising traditional industries. Last year, Aker Horizons launched the Northern Horizons Integrated Energy Project – a credible development to produce green hydrogen at scale from stranded offshore wind resources in the North Sea around the Shetland Islands. Similarly, Aker Offshore Wind is exploring integrated energy projects in Wales to utilise offshore wind resources to decarbonise onshore industries at the pre-combustion stage. In addition to innovation and ambition, these will require policy and collaboration across government, industry and investors.

Sian Lloyd-Rees, Aker Offshore Wind’s UK MD, will share more details about these projects and facilitate a discussion on how the private sector, working with government, can make a significant contribution to the UK’s Net Zero ambitions whilst building industrial strength in the UK to underpin the ongoing energy transition.
